One of my fellow writers, Patry Francis, has a new paperback, The Liar’s Diary. In fact, her book just came out in paperback today, Jan. 29. Normally, she would be out there doing everything she can to sell her book. Unfortunately, she is ill and can not be out there so this is why I am telling you about her book. Check out her book and her website: www.patryfrancis.com
Get well soon Patry!

Dear Mrs.dumas
I’m Ali Golbaf,an Iranian student, studying in India.Last month my sister sent me your book-funny in farsi-and I enjoyed it a lot.I’m so proud that a book written by an Iranian writer is in the top list of books. And another reason I wanted to send you this comment is for that,my father is a journalist in Iran with his monthly political, economic, social magazine, named GOZARESH.I wrote down his blog’s address, which his political articles are there about iran.Although it has been written in farsi, and I don’t know whether can you read farsi or not,but if you can,we’ll be happy if you check on his blog and his magazine’s website:www.gozaresh.com
And the last thing I wanna say is that,I’d love to have an interview with you,as a successful Iranian writer, for our maganize.I’ll be delighted if you accept my request.Just send me an E-mail if you are interested in the interview, and if you are interested in magazines,It’s my pleasure to gift you our magazine, just send me your address and the magazine will be there.
Thanks a lot
REGARDS

Thank you Ali!
I will check out your father’s website. It sounds very interesting.
I’m not doing any interviews right now but will be doing some when the next book comes out. (I am also a mom so I try to only do what I have to so I have time with my family. There are not enough hours in the day!)
I wish you all the best with your studies. Thank you so much for writing to me and don’t forget to thank your sister for sending you my book. What a nice sister you have!

Dear firoozeh
for sure,my sister is-if not the best-one of the best sisters of the whole universe.I understand your situation and respect it.If you are interested in interviews after your next book, just send me an E-mail,and we will do it as a cybernet question and answer,I’ll send you questions and you answer it,then send me back.I think it would have good impression on iranians inside iran to know more about you and feel that you care about iran even now.
thanks for your reply and your kind words. It means a lot to me.

Hi Firoozeh,
I listened to the audible.com version of your book and loved it so much I posted a review and essay about it on my blog, which is devoted to memoir writing. Check it out if you have a minute, and if your father likes it, maybe he’ll tell all his friends. LOL
Best wishes,

Dear Jerry,
Thank you for the thorough and kind review on your blog. You certainly understood all the themes, perhaps more so than many professional reviewers!
I also read some of the other articles on your blog and they were all so interesting. Cyberspace never ceases to amaze me, both in good ways and bad!
Can you do me a favor? Can you please post a review on Audible.com? For some reason, most people who don’t like something on Audible seem much more inclined to write reviews than those who like what they have heard.
Thank you again. You also mentioned a humor conference which sounds very intriguing. I’ll have to look into that as well.
Keep reading, writing adnd blogging!
Best,
Firoozeh

Firoozeh,
Thanks for your kind words about my blog. I am so glad you like my essay. Hearing that my words offered pleasure and insight is my main reward. Cyberspace never ceases to amaze me, either. So now thanks to your suggestion, I just posted my first ever review on Audible. I hope you like it, too.
If you want to leave your compliment as a comment on the blog where my review appears, that might provide a personal touch that would motivate people to come over and visit you.
Best wishes,
Jerry

Saw you speak in Columbus,Ohio Last month. Youre writing have often made me laugh. Thanks for some how making me feel a little bit more normal in this land that I live. My friend I attended the reading was amazed you mentioned Sushi being Iranians favorite foods. I forced here to gobble down the amazing edibles just before seeing you. She said it is true. My friend went straight home and tried to find an Iran Air travel bag on e-bay no luck. She did however find some Iran Air air sick sacks. If you find these in you mail box please know she means the best.
Merci Firoozeh jooon.

Dear Majid,
That is very funny about looking for an Iran Air bag on eBay! Don’t worry; my father bought another carry-on soon after the “incident.” He organizes it the same way. Rest assured, my mother will never again put anything in it.
I had such a great time in Columbus. In fact,I’m speaking in Ohio again this year. It’s on my website.
Best,
Firoozeh
