For all you NPR listeners, tune in to Weekend Edition on Saturday, Nov. 3. I have a piece about me and Kathryn Koob, the former hostage in Iran. I think you will agree with me that she is pretty amazing.
In case you miss it, you can go to www.npr.org, search for my name and listen anytime after Nov. 3.

Firoozeh,
I did hear your piece on NPR today and was very impressed. Given all that you have apparently been subjected to here in the US, I hope you are doing well. If you have any plans of being in the Boston, MA area I would love to hear of the dates and location, as I almost certainly would attend. If only there were more people like you in the world, we would be in much better shape.
most appreciatively,
Al Zelley

Thank you Al. I will be coming to Boston in May or June. Keep checking my website. As soon as I know my tour dates and locations, I will post them.
I look forward to meeting you!
Best,

Dear Mrs.Dumas. I just wanted to thank you fro your book “Funny in Farsi”. I am married to an Iranian and Iranian culture is a big part in my life now. I have read many books about Iran and will not pass by any new one that I see in the library. “Funny in Farsi” was on display and of coarse I took it and wouldn’t stop talking about it. When I turned on my computer to write this comment, I was putting sentences together. But now I’m afraid of taking to much space on your website
Thanks again, I am looking forward to other books.

Thank you Marina! I’m so glad to hear that my book is being read in Canada. I hope to visit there sometime.
You are not taking up too much space on my website. You should have written more!
Best,
Firoozeh

Hi Mrs. Dumas
I read your wonderful novel. Although I laughed loudly where I mustn’t do so (e.g. at work or in bus with many sleepy man!), I learned so many things about American’s way of thinking about our people and our country and of course l learned many facts about Iran revolution and it’s effects on Iranian who lives in USA.
I love your American jokes and your Iranian ” Bazleh gooei “!
I wish to visit you in Iran. I highly appreciate to read your new book in Persian.
Send my “salam” to your family.
Khoda negahdar ( sorry for my week grammar !!)

Salam Reihaneh,
I would LOVE to tour Europe but that will only happen if the foreign rights are sold. Maybe that will happen with my next book but nobody bought the rights for FUNNY IN FARSI. (What’s wrong with these Europeans?!?)
I hope that happens. Think good thoughts and maybe I will see you in London!
best,
Firoozeh

I hope I visit Iran too. For now, my book is there, not me. Maybe we will BOTH be there someday soon!
My family says “Salam” to you too.
Best,

Hi Firoozeh!
What a pleasant surprise to find out that you have a blog. I just wanted to let you know that lots of us here in Switzerland tuned into the NPR broadcast and everyone enjoyed it immensely.
Funny In Farsi seems to have become required reading for the expatriates here in Lugano. Everyone of us loved it and we’re all look forward to reading the next book.
We’d all love to hear you speak should you ever travel to Lugano.
Ciao,
your cousin (in law) Mary
